This video will explain to you how to generate new combined units in GauVendi.
The initial set up of your property’s categorys (MRFCS), personalized units (RFCS) as well as virtual units (ERFCS) and combined units is all done by the GauVendi team during your onborading phase based on our information about your property.
However, you might realize that there is un-used potential – so therefore you might want to add another combined unit. Have you already checked out our video on how to create a new virtual unit? This set up is quite like creating a new virtual unit, therefore we highly recommend watching the virtual unit video first. Within this tutorial, we will look more into the specialties of combined units, especially regarding the pricing.
So, let’s get started. To create a combined unit, go to the products section in the GauVendi extranet. Click on “create product” on the upper right corner and choose “Virtual Units (ERFC) - Clone product”. Next, choose the product you want to clone (so the one you want to use as a base for the new one). Click save.
Next, amend the ERFC name of the new unit. Make sure you also cover the translations. Then, set the ERC status to active and assign the rooms or units you want to be part of this virtual product.
Then, you need to choose “allocation type – All" instead of “Deduct” - therefore, the units can only be sold together (and need to be available at the same time). Please keep in mind, that you need to create a separate combined unit for each product (so if you have connection rooms on two floors, you need to create 2 combined units, one for each floor, otherwise the system will sell all 4 rooms together!).
Remember to now amend your unit space (sqm) as now to spaces will be sold as one (so most likely it’s doubled). Also the number of bedrooms will increase.
Next, check for the pricing: With combined RFCs we recommend using the combined RFC pricing, so that the full value of both units is considered. .
Next, choose the distribution channels where you like to sell this product to.
Make sure you adapt to the capacity accordingly. How many people can now stay in this new product? How many can stay in the default setup and how many extra beds can be accepted.
If Minimum of Maximum length of stays apply by default for this product, make sure this is added here. Furthermore you can control the MinLos sales in your sales plan – be aware the “stronger rule” wins. If your sales plan includes a higher MinLos than your product, the product will only be sold when the MinLos of the Sales Plan is met and vice versa.
Ensure your update the features relevant for this product. To stick to our example, under layout you must add the feature “Rooms next to each other “ or “Rooms interconnecting” and you will also need to increase the number of the respective feature if this increases, such as number of showers will increase from 1 to 2.
Last but not least you should add personalized images for your new ERFC. Remember that formats can be .png or .jpg up to 1 MB and ensure the pictures appear in the order you define.
Click on save.
Congratulations, your new combined unit is now loaded and activated! ?
